Renstrom - Committed to Education Excellence
Filed under | Dental Laboratory
With all of the changes and advancements in the dental industry it is important to stay educated on current trends and techniques. This is why Renstrom is committed to providing educational opportunities for not only its doctors but its own staff as well.
Over the summer, a few of Renstrom’s employees were able to attend some courses and touch up on some skills of their own.
Randi and Nicole went to a two day course in Athens Georgia on Labnet Software and Management system. There they learned how to utilize our lab software more efficiently and analyze different reports based on the work our doctors have done. Another feature of this program is an online scheduling system available to our doctors and their office, which we plan to introduce in the coming months.
Lori who works in the crown and bridge department attended a course taught by world renowned technician Michel Magne. The course discussed how diagnostic provisionals serve as a blueprint for final restorations. Lori learned to fabricate temporaries by layering acrylic resin just as we would with porcelain. These temporaries have a much higher level of esthetics which gives the patient a more realistic idea of the final restorations.
As a Sirona inlab site Renstrom has the ability to design and mill crowns to exact specifications. There are continuous updates to this software and technology so it is important that we remain at the forefront of it all. Annie who works in our CAD/CAM department is doing just that as she participated in a hands on course at the Sirona Training Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was able to work with new materials suited for proper applications, understand limitations and necessary corrective solutions, and also explore all avenues of the inlab system.
