First and foremost, was the merger of Renstrom Dental and Crocus Dental laboratories. Both dental labs have brought complementary traits to the table, resulting in a whole that is truly larger than the sum of its parts.

As a member in the Northern Dental Alliance and with the Crocus merger, my perspective continues to widen. Being able to serve and be involved with more quality-focused dentists can only enhance our performance, our clients' success, and the overall value of dentistry.

Crocus Dental Technology brought Renstrom Dental Studio more experience with implants and cosmetics. Renstrom brings consistent quality control and customer service strengths to Crocus. We have been working diligently on keeping the best of both companies and improving the rest.

In 2009, we will be continuing to capitalize on the strengths of both companies to improve dentistry anywhere we can from seminars to internal production.

One of the most significant changes is the addition of Dr. Jeff Benson to our dental lab team. He is working hard collecting and analyzing data looking at reasons for some cases coming back for adjustments or needing to be remade entirely. We have already been making some changes in the lab in response to his findings.

He calls or visits dental offices looking for more data and offering suggestions when invited and appropriate. Dr. Benson is in a unique position of understanding the workings of a modern dental office as well as our laboratory. His goal is to improve the entire experience for all of our clients and those dentists who want consistent, high level results.

The economy is certainly a big issue for everyone right now. With the advancement in dental materials and lab technology, Renstrom wants to offer dentists a more economical alternative to the expensive process of layering porcelain. From complex dental casework 'where only precise results will do' to bread and butter dentistry, our lab is able to perform efficiently and at the highest level.

We are also helping other dental laboratories improve their casework. As the exclusive representative for the Jet-Pins dental model system, Renstrom is helping other labs increase the quality of every case they produce for their dentist-clients.
